Selfridges haul!

Like most women out there, I've been seeking that smooth shiny skin you see all the hollywood actresses with and wondered what it is they do, I am aware they spend hundreds maybe even thousands on treatments and other things, but I realised I'm not exactly clued up when it comes to the proper guide to skin care, so I decided to research. Not only do I not drink enough water or fresh juice, but I also do not have any proper skin products!

Below: Clinque Correcting lotion, Clinique Hyperpigmentatio Serum, Clinique eye cream, Mac Mineralize foundation, Mac Mascara, Mac lipstick, Superdrug Black Gel Eyeliner, Mac Lip pencil.

I found that I have combination skin, So I don't suffer from oiliness but also not excessive dryness although I am leaning more toward the dry side (damn water). I also suffer from hyperpigmentation on both my cheeks, Hyperpigmentation is basically scarring which was caused by me picking at little spots here and there which has left dark marks on my face.

Clinique skin tone correcting lotion SPF 20
I took a trip to Selfridges and spoke with a specialist from Clinque. She pointed me toward getting a Serum specifically for pigmentation and general evening of the skin tone (blemishes etc). The idea of a serum is to act as a first base of protection on the skin, having a specified serum will mean it works more intensely, and then you apply your moisturiser as a second base of protection.
Clinique Dark Spot Corrector
I purchased the skin correcting daily moisturiser, I was told this one was necessary to work in combination with that serum as it has SPF 15, without the SPF it would be counter productive as there is no protection from the sun and other environmental factors that damage the skin day to day.

Clinique Eye cream (as a gift with purchase also got a 7 day facial scrub)

It's also important to have a Night Routine, proper removal of make up, your toner, serum and night cream to repair the skin at night!

The other products bought were because I needed to replace some other items in my make up bag.

MAC Mineralize Foundation NC45
I love love love the MAC mineralise foundation it gives you a smooth dewy look, and I absolutley adore the MAC false lashes mascara, It makes your lashes look so long, I believe there are very small fibres in the formula that help extend and thicken your lashes, giving it that affect only false lashes seem to achieve.
Maybelline Eye liner Gel and Mac angled brush
'In Anticipation' Mac lip liner
MAC False lashes extreme black (LOVE)

All in all it was a good little shopping trip, they said I will start to see results in about 3-6 months if using this routine twice a day I will do a review on my results after using the products very soon!
