OH MY LOIFE
Finally I've got round to talking about this product!!! If you don't know about my relationship with Ojon already then trust me after this article you too will be caught up in this love affair!
When I first came across Ojon it was during the beginning of
my hair journey..
They claim to help damaged
and dry hair, here’s my experience with it!
The background story to the discovery of Ojon is remarkable, it originates from the Tawari tribe, whose name actually means ‘the people of beautiful hair’. Seriously, hands down the best treatment I have ever ever used, and you all know I love my DIY BUT! The Ojon restorative hair treatment I may use for the rest of my life.
So what makes this treatment different is it's secret ingredient..
Ojon™ oil - known as "nature's golden elixir", this now-legendary oil is rich in essential lipids similar to those in unprocessed, virgin hair. Found only in the rainforests of Central America and harvested and extracted by hand from the nuts of the fragrant Ojon tree".
When using the product I would relate the smell to like a coffee, cocoa buttery, Smokey, burning wood kind of smell, it's very strong so this may not appeal to some, but you will quickly get over that once your hair starts reaping all the benefits of the treatment
Here's what they say about using the treatment
'Improvement in the condition of dry, damaged hair after just 1 treatment. This clinically proven cult classic is fortified with pure Ojon™ oil, nature's powerful golden elixir, a rare powerful natural ingredient that's rich in essential lipids similar to those found in healthy hair. After just one treatment, this rich, velvety balm dramatically helps restore vibrant health, strength and shine to even the most damaged hair. Hair is soft, silky and manageable. A must-have for lifeless, dull, brittle, frizzy, flyaway or unmanageable hair.'How I use the treatment
I started by using it twice a week because my hair was very damaged at the beginning of my journey due to colouring and heat damage. I had dry, brittle hair and too much hair coming out when combing.A small rounded comb just small enough to fit in your palm is provided, I used the rounded part of it to scoop up the product, the texture is similar to how cocoa butter behaves when it's cold, so like a thick soft chalky texture, but on contact with skin it starts to melt.
I section my hair starting from the bottom, and I work the product between my hands. I apply it to my ends first as this was the problem area and then apply to my roots, you want to be quite generous when applying (it is a treatment, saturate those hair strands!!). You can see my oiling routine here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9aS3bq-LAc
At the time I was also using the Ojon shampoo and conditioner, I did a review on this you can watch that here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvUwZ1jWveA
So after sleeping with the treatment in my hair I would wash it out the next morning. (It washes out with no trace of the smell don't worry)
Results
I started by using this product around 2 times a week for about a month or so. I noticed improvement in it's appearance from the second week using it! It was already appearing less brittle and it was softer to the touch.
After a month of using the product twice a week, my hair didn't need to be treated as often because the condition improved so much! So I began to use it once a week when I knew I would be washing my hair the next day anyway.
Now after finishing the treatment (which lasts FOREVER by the way) not only was my hair longer, stronger, shinier, thicker and no sign of dryness, but my curls!! My curl pattern came back and for the first time after years and years of straitening my hair I loved the look of my natural thick curly hair.
I'm about to order my 2nd tub!!
I have never been able to compare a product even near to this treatment and what it's done for my hair and I've tried a ton -__- nope I'm going right back to where it all began!
I ALMOST FORGOT!!
