Sheet Masks + Mini Skincare Haul

So as some of you may know,

I have started a quest for clear smooth skin, I've decided I've actually had enough now and the research I do daily is actually crazy I'm now looking into cultures known for their good skin and what they do!

Which brought me to the world of Korean skin care.
One thing I've learned about them..

They don't play when it comes to skin care.

.

So the first thing I NEEDED to buy back which was long overdue, was this blackhead remover.

I purchased mine from Body shop for £4.00

I use it to remove the roots of any spots without scarring my skin I recommend this little tool for EVERYONE

Anyway seeing as I had lost it somewhere I have accumulated some new scars..

Ok now onto the exciting things

I've watched beautyqq on Youtube for ages, stuff like 2ne1TV, Roomate and so on and so on.. One thing I found re occurring in all of these things was the use of sheet masks.

For a little while I've been intrigued but never really looked into it because the brands I've seen like ~'My beauty Diary' are too pricey over here compared to how much they really are, they seem to think people over here will never look online -__- So I kept it moving and decided to wait until I could find a good website to buy them.

My beauty diary
Yesterday while doing my daily research..

I decided to order them, after reading around I noticed most of them spoke about being a very hydrating mask, everything mentioned hydration but I was looking specifically for a mask to help with my scars?.. with no real luck of anything specifically designed for scars,
I began looking at the benefits of these ones and saw that it is indeed HYDRATION that your skin needs for an even and smooth skin tone. It suddenly started to make sense to me. My skin is over here drying up in front of my computer it's screaming for extra hydration.

I've already started to drink more water, the face mist I use( Thanks to park bom) provides hydration throughout the day and I thought the serum and moisturizer I apply in the morning was enough to carry me through the day. But just like I treat my hair weekly to a deep hydrating treatment I never knew you need to give yourself a deep hydrating face mask too!

After reading all this information about the importance of hydration in skin care I now understand why the sheet masks are so expensive. Anyway, in a mini panick I decided I couldn't wait for the shipping time of the sheet masks and thought there must be some European version out here somewhere that I could use in the meantime..I found one I liked the look of by Olay and a few others online So I sped down to boots after work.

It was a mission just to find them but I finally came across the three I found online

Now, I don't need to waste money on lifting anything right now so that's No7 out the window especially at £19.99, and to be honest the only reason I didn't buy the pink one is because I am a sucker for packaging and just didn't like the look of this one..-__- it also didn't say it was doing anything more than the Olay one, I do want to try this brand once I've finished testing Olays' though.

Plus Olay has the best reputation so I stuck with what I knew and went for this one, You get 5 sheets in the box at £14.99 so not too bad (was the cheapest out of the three).

So why sheet masks and not just a normal mask you ask?

Normal face masks are a combination of ingredients you kind of slap on your face and hope for the best they are usually quite oily and messy you have to wash them off bla bla to be honest I hate them, I've tried every kind out there it never actually has any long lasting benefits.

A Sheet mask is made out of stretchy cloth so it's able to absorb very concentrated serum, it's pre cut to contour around your face with holes for the eyes and mouth making sure it gets in all the nooks and crannies!
The cloth is a key part in helping your face absorb all of the serum.

How to use?

You can cleanse the face and use the sheet mask after a long day or whenever you feel like it, or exfoliate the skin so that your face is extra clean and free from dead skin cells and it also helps to absorb the serum even better!

I made cuts either side of the nose and corners of the mouth but now as I review I realise that was pointless as it's cloth and you are supposed to stretch it over the face!

The packet says you can leave the mask on for 15-20 mins and relax, or you can leave it on I know some to sleep in them! I left mine on until the cloth started to dry out a little, and then you remove the cloth and pat the serum left on your face and go to sleep.

Just before using the mask my skin looked horrific, I have some active breakouts across my cheeks again, my hyper pigmentation issues and dryness! I'll be honest with you, I could NOT take a before picture for you, I was also skeptical about the sheet masks myself as it's the first time using them so didn't expect much down to my experience with normal face masks.

I exfoliated and applied the mask, It has a milky kind of texture and smells amazing, (smells identical to Olays night cream) It also stayed cool on my face for the entire time I had it applied! I relaxed for a couple of hours. Immediately after peeling the sheet off, my skin felt amazing. I pat the rest of the serum into my face and fell asleep.

When I woke up, I kid you not, my skin was supple, it looked a lot more even and there was no sign of any dryness or flakiness. To my amazement my breakouts were completely calmed down! (No point showing you the after as there's no before -_-)

These sheet masks are great for brightening your skin reducing fine lines from dehydration, calming down inflammation, and refreshing tired skin.
However they don't treat acne and oily skin, it's better to use a drying, clay mask to draw out impurities.
Still excited to order these!!

They are so convenient they come in little packets. I will be using once a week forever! I also want to try other brands.
Thanks to these results I will take some before pictures and see the results after a month!
