It's Sari Time!! Hafsa's Wedding

Greetings All

I can't actually believe we are in May, is it just me or has this year already flown so fast?

And speaking of time moving quickly, one of my best friends of 11 years has gotten married!! I was overwhelmed to be a part of it all! Check out how it all went down . . .

Ah so where do I start? I remember going round her house at like 12 years old and dressing up in all her Asian clothes, amongst all the girlie things we used to get up to and talk about I remember I used to tell her how badly I wanted to go to an Asian wedding because of how pretty the girls always look, I think that was around the time I became a little obsessed with channel B4U (shout out to those who know the channel XD) I used to love the jewellery in the girls hair, the dresses and so on..

So who would have thought my very first Asian wedding would have been hers!! (Feeling slightly teary thinking about it lmao, I know get a room right?)

The first event I made it to was the Mehndi. I was told my outift was green, so I dabbled in some make up and made a green smokey eye, with my FAVORITE eyelashes

I have a crazy amount of footage from the Mehndi and Wedding btw so just be patient it's worth seeing so I'm working on it!

So for those who are new to Asian weddings usually at the Mehndi the bride is blessed as she walks in, is sung to by the family, a KAH-jillion photos of the bride is taken, you eat! and then the groom arrives a little later, another million photos are taken!

Got to see some of her family members again that I haven't seen since I was a kid! And also some old school friends too. It's crazy to see how much we've all grown.

The next event that I attended was the actual wedding itself! Another one of my closest friends came in celebration, you may recognise her from some other vlogs i've done. Prepare yourself for the footage of me getting my sari wrapped btw.. ( I will insert it once everything has been edited -_- I can't keep up with myself)

So for the wedding I made some effort with my hair after seeing all of the amazing hairstyles displayed at the Mehndi, Here we have it: I drop curled the ends and pinned the front back.

Look who it is! Niyinke came down!!

I did a blue smokey eye, I must say I really have enjoyed experiementing with all of these different colours and looks over the last few days.. Putting this Sari on really was quite hilarious, but there's the finished result. Princess Jasmine eat your heart out! Am I Right? Hafsa knew what she was doing when she picked this Sari out for me  :D

And the bride herself:

Selfie!!!

Looking at her up there I couldn't help but think about how our friendship came about, in school I was a very random individual making friends with lots of different people, I never cared about groups or who was cool at that time or blabla..she already was in a lil friendship group, and I can't really remember how I stole her haha,  I remember at some point making her teach me how to write the alphabet in Urdu and teaching me conversations which to this day I used at the wedding to impress her family (dusts off shoulder) but 11 years later we have grown and I look back to those days and I'm grateful for our friendship.

She looked like a Princess!! I don't know how they do it though, sat up there the whole night getting photos taken of them, she handled it well because by the time 10.30pm rolled around I was thoroughly exhausted and all I did was sit down and eat the entire time. I wish you all the happiness in the world  Hafsa I love you very much!!
