"How am I supposed to grow my hair longer when I have to keep cutting it due to split ends?!"So if you feel you are growing you hair and doing everything right but your hair can't seem to get passed a certain length because it's breaking or thin at the ends, you have to start to listen to your hair and understand it..
I'll make it a bit more simple..
Your hair keeps breaking when it gets to that length because it's still probably very damaged. Hair has a cycle it starts at the root as a fresh new hair at it's thickest three layers, it reaches the middle and is a little less strong with just two layers now because of the environment, brushing and of course wear and tear so by the time it reaches the very end of your hair it's been through years of damage and at this point it's at it's thinnest having only one layer of protection.
So the way to minimize damage and have luscious thick ends and long hair, you can seal your ends. You will need to dampen the ends of the hair and add your most moisturising thick product to the ends of the hair. You can use olive oil lotion or olive oil, anything that you love but it has to be moisturising. Sealing the ends makes sure that they are getting enough moisture seeing as they are so far from the scalp there is no way of the ends staying hydrated.
You can invest time in researching what resting hairstyles you like, start wearing buns, or braids, cornrows/french braids/twists or even wearing a wig. The idea is to get your ends away from everyday wear and tear, leaning on the train chairs, the wind, the sun, pollution etc..
And last but most importantly GIVE YOUR HAIR A BREAK!!! I don't care what you say about your natural hair! It is the best hair you can have because it's yours!! Learn to love it and stop using heat tools and chemicals, if that is entirely impossible then at least limit it. I've started to only straighten my hair once a month and i prefer my curls now anyway..they never used to be like this, everyone has to go through the hair transitioning stage if your stopping using chemicals but once it's over your hair will thank you...
All in all, Love your hair and it will show. Have patience and protect your hair!!
Hope this helped
Love you all

Hi.I have been following you for a long time now and I love you so much and I want to thank you for everything you do.Have you ever used any products from the OGX line?I follow a lot of beauty gurus and I can't remember if it was you or someone else who did a small review of it in a favorites video.I was looking at the website and saw all these products that said they did different things so I bought like 8 products from the different lines they had but started wondering if using a bunch of products from different lines was bad for my hair. What do you think?Should I only stick with 1 line or can I switch it up?If I can switch then how many different ones can I use?I have very very very thick hair and it is always dry and my scalp absorbs moisture like crazy. I'm not natural and my hair used to be naturally past bra strap length but after my hair dresser burned the back of my hair off it never grew back right or grows right but that happened 2 years ago so since then my hair grew super long but my hairdresser told me it was all damaged and split so she had to cut it all off so now i'm back to my hair being a little past shoulder length.I was so devastated and I kinda feel like I just wanna give up because it took so long to get my hair like that and I tried really hard to get it to grow.I would go natural because I think my wavy hair would be cute but my hairdresser advised against it and she knows my hair better than anyone and I have been with her since I was little (she's not the one who burnt my hair). Do you think I should do anything pacific to help my hair?I'm kinda feeling a little defeated right now so please respond as soon as possible.Thank you
ReplyDeleteO my goodness!! First and foremost I love you too!, and Secondly Never give up, one thing you must always remember is growing out your hair is a journey, with lots of ups and downs! and although it can be extremely frustrating you must stick with it, I promise you in the long run you will be so happy to see how far you've come. You have to imagine how much damage your hair has accumulated, so to rid of all of that damage once and for all, of course your hair is going to go through so many different stages and set backs here and there, but stick with it because you will get there!
DeleteRight so let's address your products, no I have never used the OGX line, I am very familiar with Ojon products myself. I would say as long as you are using a non sulfate shampoo and rich conditioner it doesn't matter if it is from the same line or not you must listen to your hair, sometimes certain products from a line work better than others so it's perfectly fine. Use the best products from any line to create the best regime for yourself.
As your hair is thick I would highly suggest you use a leave in conditioner when you just finish washing it while its still a little wet so it can retain and lock in the moisture better when it's dry and prevents damage as well. Then whatever you usually use afterward to moisturize your hair when it's dry should be fine and it should absorb a little less because it won't be so thirsty. Make sure your adding all of this in sections so all of the hair is being coated.
In terms of your hair length, because your hair is a little thicker, you need to treat it like lace! I strongly recommend you do not listen to your hairdresser if you feel to go natural hair, it is entirely your choice if you feel this is the right time to do so and look after yourself then you should by all means go for it and you have my support!! It's a big step but in the long run you will have longer healthier and much stronger hair. If you are willing to look after yourself and your hair then I would say that you go for it and embrace your natural hair. But like I said remember this is a Journey, It takes time. But you must start somewhere :) xxx
